A Note from Ryan
Greetings Friends!
Today marks week 3 of our 2010 vision series called “Resolve”. Our prayer for 2010 is that we as a church would resolve to make Jesus our chief affection.
Thus far we have talked about praying for the mission and pursuing the mission. This week I want to briefly look at how we can invite people to the mission.
When we think of inviting people to the mission we tend to think “evangelism”. Evangelism– or telling people the good news of the Gospel– is indeed a part of inviting people to the mission, but it also means inviting those of us who are already Christians into a deeper level of missional-involvement.
Here are some contemplative questions to ask yourself about practical ways we can invite people to the mission both individually and corporately:- Do I have a relationship with ANYONE who does not know Jesus?
- Am I praying for opportunities to step out and have spiritual conversations?
- Am I inviting lost friends to things like Sunday Worship Gatherings, Ladies Night, Guy’s Night, or Community Group?
- Have I taken the steps necessary to become a member at Redemption?
- Am I serving, giving, and praying faithfully for Redemption?
- How can we as a church build relationships with our city?
The Church is not a destination. The Church is not a building. The Church is the redeemed people of God living on Mission together.
Are you engaged in the mission? Who are you inviting to the mission? Let’s get on mission together!
